Current Information:Born-Fulham Rue-Petillon Military Cemetery, Fleurbaix, France
On 7th April, 1915, the 2nd Royal Berkshire battalion of 25 Brigade, 8th Division were relieved from the trenches near Rue Petillon and moved to reserve billets at Croix Blanche. They were still in these billets on 9th April when Robert Blackburn was killed but the battalion diary provides no details concerning his death. The likelihood is that he was killed, probably by shell fire, while employed on a working or carrying party. |
